Biography of Warren Buffett

Education

• Warren Buffett graduated high school at Woodrow Wilson High School, in Washington D.C. in 1947.
• Warren attended the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania from 1947-1949 and then the University of Nebraska in 1950 in his undergraduate collegiate career.
• At the University of Nebraska, Buffett read Benjamin Graham's The Intelligent Investor, which sparked his interest in investing.
• Warren later on graduated with a Master's degree in economics in 1951 at Columbia Business School, studying under Benjamin Graham and alongside many other future valued investors.

Work Experience

• Warren's work experience began at the early age of 11 at his father's brokerage firm, where he made his first stock purchase, buying Cities Services shares for $38 each. He decided to sell them when the shares reached $40 a piece and later watched to see the stock skyrocket to $200 a share a few years later. This taught him a valuable lesson to invest in good companies for the long term.
