The Multicultural Education in America America has long been called "The Melting Pot" because the fact that it is made up of a variety of races, cultures, and ethnicities. Myself, as an international student from Hungary, I am part of this multicultural environment here in Los Angeles. ... Some of the issues include the system of the education and the amount of international students that grow every year. ... In the 80’s, Stanford University came up with a program - later known as the "Stanford-style multicultural curriculum" which aimed to familiarize students with traditions, philosophy, literature, and history of the West. This program was very important because it revealed that America is a multicultural society. ... They feel that American education should try and think of all the students as a whole rather than people from different places all living together. ... There certainly is no easy answer to the problem of multicultural education, especially when people coming from a culture where the educational system is totally different that the one in America.
