What makes a hero

What makes a hero? The dictionary defines a hero as a myth or a legend often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by the gods. To me a hero is someone who makes a positive impact on someone’s life directly or indirectly. A hero can be someone you know or you could have no idea that that person exists in the world. In some cultures a mythical person is considered a hero to them, such as Hercules or Odysseus. To a child a hero can be a character in a movie, TV show, or comic book. But to a lot of people a hero has to be a cop, firefighter, or someone in the army. These people don’t realize that a hero can be a teacher, friend, and even your older or younger siblings. The thing is that all of these people can become a hero to someone else for the most complex reason or the simplest reason.
