The Anglo-Saxon’s along with today’s society both have similar values pertaining to their love for materialistic items, such as money or treasures. ... Their love of materialistic items often times came in the way of their true values and morals. ... People today are always seeking to earn some extra money, to buy a more expensive car, or to own a larger house, and sometimes this questions the true values of people today and what really is important to them. This unfortunate value for the love of materialistic items will never change or improve, as shown from the time of the Anglo-Saxons through today, because it’s just a part of human nature. ... The interpretation of violence basically depends on the values taught to one growing up, and in comparison to Anglo-Saxon times, people today have grown up to believe in a more civil and stricter way of dealing with things, and don’t always turn to violence as the answer.
