Andrew Jacksons Dealings with The Cherokee Indians DBQ
There were many different ideas on how to deal with the Cherokee Indians between 1790 and 1830. Most of them fell into these three categories, the people who wanted to peacefully get the Indians out by using treaties, the people who wanted to kick them out using military force, and the people who thought they should live in harmony with the Indians. ... ) Jackson’s policy towards dealing with the Cherokee nation was a huge change from the way thing’s had been done in the past. People such as Henry Knox to Thomas Jefferson to William Crawford said that it would be unlawful to kick the Cherokee’s off of their land because they were there first.
