The argument entitled the Ghetto Defense is an argument about a young girl Lisa Morgan who is accused of murdering an innocent person for a pair of sneakers. The Defense Lawyer is this argument try’s to play the “Ghetto Defense” on the jury as if to say, “she killed because she was brought up in that life style. When Francis Flaherity compares living in a ghetto to being in a war zone, it is very hard to imagine this statement as being true. He claims that Lisa suffers from a disease called PTSD. He adds that Morgan is “from a small group of inner city kids who suffers from tremendous intra-familial violence.” This analogy of Lisa suffering from the same disease as those who were in wars is hard to comprehend.
