In this paper I will be taking three themes from Richard H. Robbin’s “Cultural Anthropology A Problem Based Approach,” and applying them to Elizabeth Warnock Fernea’s “Guests of the Sheik.” We will be looking at how ethnocentrism, anthropology in architecture, and . Firstly, is the fact that ethnocentrism does apply to “Guests of the Sheik.” Ethnocentrism is the tendency to judge the beliefs and behaviors of other cultures from the perspective of one’s own culture.
