Adam and Eve
... When God placed Adam in the Garden of Eden he commanded that he could eat of any tree in the garden except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and if he did he would die. God then made a partner for Adam out of one of Adam s ribs. God created a woman to be Adam s wife to live an unending life with no evil. Adam and his wife walked around naked and were not ashamed of it (Genesis 2). All Adam and his wife had to do was to obey God and not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and they would live a perfect life. When a serpent in the garden convinced Adam s wife that eating the forbidden fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would open their eyes and make her like God and know both good and evil, she ate the fruit and Adam did too. ... When Adam and his wife heard the Lord walking in the garden, they hid themselves because they were ashamed of their nakedness and felt guilt from eating the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
