Historians, a type of social scientist are in a tough situation when it comes to points of view with regards to their pursuit of knowledge. They are forced to look at multiple points of view coming form different sources. ... If all the data and evidence point in the same direction, the truth may seem obvious, but this simple answer is often not what is presented. ... In this example it is obvious that personal points of view can be a positive force or a negative one. ... The different points of view, although sometimes helpful force the people using them to take their own personal point of view into consideration and come up with their own truth of the events. Furthermore, a personal point of view does not only effect the interpretation of facts that become knowledge but also the range of knowledge that a person has. ... It is obvious that one’s point of view including personal experience, values and beliefs affects their descions regarding this controversial subject.
