For over the past decade, Thai government has been debated whether the state industry should be owned by the private company or by the government. The major state industry includes water, electricity, transportation and telephone. At present some of the state industry is made public with the government still holding the majority of share but none of them are fully privatised. Many people though want to take this a step further by privatize all Thai state industry. Privatization is the process of selling the state industry, which is owned and managed by the government to the private company. ... The aim of this essay is to prove that all the state industry should be privatized since the best benefit will fall for the consumers. People who are against privatization of the state industry often argue to the fact that perfect competition which will be generated if all state industries are privatized will not give the consumer high quality product. ... If all state industries are privatized, it will result in many firms compete with each other (perfect competition). ... There is fear that if the state industries are in the foreigners’ hands our country will be insecure.
