Contrast Essay

While the Catholic Church is comprised of nearly one billion people throughout the world, there are over 62 million followers in America. Although millions of Catholics attend Mass on Sundays, the reasons they show up vary from person to person. There are the people who attend Mass because they want a closer relationship with God and find it important to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, and there are those who go to Mass because they were raised to go every Sunday and believe it is the right thing to do. While these two groups do make up the membership of the Catholic Church in America, they greatly differ from one another. Catholics that attend Sunday Masses because they feel a need to grow in their faith make up a great majority of the Catholics in America.
