Prolfiling
Stereotypical ¡§You guys need to get the f*** out, you killers!!¡¨ I bet that got your attention. It was September 11th, 2001. My friends and I had just gotten out of school and decided to go to the local pool hall. We had hardly walked though the doors when we heard someone from the bar shout out those exact words, telling us to leave. We got the picture very clearly. Since we were ¡§brown¡¨ and especially since of my friends was wearing a turban, it was obvious why we were being harassed. We quietly left without causing an altercation. In a way, we understood from what direction they were coming from, but in a different sense we thought there should be a limit to ignorance. Since the horrific attacks on the Twin Towers, citizens and residents of the United States who are descendents from the Middle East have been major targets of stereotyping and racial profiling. I, myself, being from India, have felt the effects of discrimination, only because I share the same skin color as that of the men who destroyed the World Trade Center.
