Observing and Remembering
It all started in february of 2001. Everyday I would sit down at lunch with my friends, including Rita. Rita and I have been friends ever since elementary school. We've had classes together all of our lives. She had always supported me in everything I've done, from when I was little and wanted to be a magician, a fighter pilot, a superhero, and even in the present as my automotive talents came to be. I always went to all her dance recitals and watched her in every musical she had ever been in. Rita and I both worked at a local clothing store together. That friday was homecoming, and like all other dances, I was going to rent movies. Rita lived for those things, so she was going to go with some girlfriends. She came to me that night at work and was a little upset. Most of her friends had gotten dates at the last minute, making her feel like a 5th wheel. She begged me to please go so that she had someone to dance with. It's funny to look back at that now because she knew for a fact that A: I hated dances, and B: I am a horrible dancer. It took alot of nagging on her part but I finally gave in on the condition that we'd go see a movie (of MY choice) the next night.
