Archetypes in Soldier s Home

The archetype Hemingway conveys in the short story “Soldier’s Home” is of frustration and shame. “Soldier’s Home” tells a story of a young man, Harold Krebs, who only recently returned home from World War I, who has moved back into his parents’ house while he figures out what he wants to do with the rest of his life. Harold’s home does not fell like home any more because he not only lived on his own, but has dealt with life and death situations, this is something his parents could not possible understand.
