SHATTERED LIVES As Americans we are led to believe false pretenses about our government. ... Every time a bomb is dropped on another country, we are rarely told about the innocent lives that are lost, the homes that are destroyed, and the families that are torn apart. ... I hated to admit that my government had caused so much pain and destruction in the lives of so many. ... In July 1997, they left to come to America and rebuild their lives. ... So often we are led to believe that war is the answer, but we must realize that nothing can come out of war but many lost and shattered lives.
