Was She So Horrible?
In looking back at all the horrible publicity given to her in tabloids, TV, and periodicals, one has to look at the deeper image of Princess Diana. In the past few years since her death, she has been made out to be a devil and Prince Charles, in turn, has been made to look like the salvation for Great Britain’s future. This is not true! To judge her, one cannot simply base opinions on what the media currently says. To understand the true, real, and humanly fallible Princess Diana, one has to look back into her history, maybe even into her childhood, teenage, and young-adult years before she even became the “Princess of Wales.” One should recognize the good person that Princess Diana actually was. Diana, while growing up, had a rough childhood. Herself, her two older sisters, and her younger brother constantly viewed verbal and at times, physical fighting between their parents. They were constantly “sent to bed” so mommy and daddy could have a “discussion.” In her childhood years, Diana saw nothing but unhappiness and misery in both her mother and father and she was determined not to have that. Diana was constantly having dreams of one day meeting her “Prince Charming” and living happily ever after. She was determined to do it right! As far as her childhood mission to helping all living things, Diana found it her personal task and responsibility to take care of every stray cat and living creature that came along her way. In Andrew Morton’s book called, “Diana; Her True Story” Diana’s little brother Charles Spencer recalls how she would constantly baby and watch out for little cats. She would feed them, nurture them, and sometimes dress them up. If one of them died, she make all her siblings go out to a little island on their property and they’d perform a lengthy funeral.
