tuesdays with morrie

) We, as human beings, tend to live with a sense of denial about death. Because we deny this natural part of living, we feel like we are immortal and have all the time in the world to put things off until later. If we don’t face the facts, we will never spend everyday as if it were our last day living, in which we would take care of everything we need to take care of and fully live. When people find out that they are going to die, they become very angry, which causes them to waste the little time they have left on their emotions. When a dying person is angry, there is a big possibility that they might offend others by being mad at themselves, their friends, and even their own family members with whom they love the most. A part of dying, is fixing the problems that you made during your lifetime and paying off any debts that you still owe; however, by being constantly angry, you do the exact opposite by making new problems instead of fixing the ones that already exist. The average person often bargains with his/her life by taking the chance that he/she will still be alive tomorrow, which may or may not be true. When we bargain with our life, we focus all of our attention on the future. We think that for some odd reason, the future will be better than the present, which doesn’t allow people to enjoy their coffee, notice a swaying tree, or simply feel the night’s breeze blow against their face.
