Are We Destroying Our World? If we destroy the world we live in by the way we are living now, there will be nowhere to live tomorrow. “For the green pre-human earth is the mystery we were chosen to solve, a guide to the birthplace of our spirit, but it is slipping away” (Wilson 344). The earth’s past is an unsolved riddle we have yet to discover the answer to. Scientists uncover a little more each day about how the earth was and how its creatures lived billions of years ago. These curious minds in white coats are inching closer to the answers of how and why many species of the earth have become extinct. We need to learn from the past and prevent the loss of more great species in the future.
