Tension and Tragedy on the United States Just in the past year the United States has been hit very hard with tension and tragedy. It all started with the shocking terrorist attacks at the Twin Towers and has continued with debates of war with Iraq and war itself with Afghanistan. Each of these events and many other events have affected people in many different ways. After the suicide bombing of the Twin Towers many people were struck with shock, sadness, anger, and confusion. Waking up on September 11 and turning on the TV to see a plane flying into the Twin Towers was a shock in and of itself. No one would have ever thought of such a thing happening especially that morning. I woke up that morning at 9 o’clock and as I was getting ready for school I turned the TV on and saw the image of a plane flying into the towers and then a ball of smoke coming from the building. I was shocked.
