Nolan Daley 10-22-2002 Computer Science III UTD This year's trip to University of Texas at Dallas, UTD, was more helpful and educational than last years visit. It hit closer to home this year because I will be going off to college next year, and everything that was said was helpful for me to know what is expected from me. The fact that our class has the chance to go onto a college campus near our homes helps me greatly. It shows me how the campus is laid out totally different from our high school, there are several buildings for different departments and classes opposed to the one giant building of Allen High School. The visit first started out with a couple of presentations from some of the professors and students that go to UTD. First the whole class went into the new phase of the Erik Jonsson building. We went down a few hallways and saw some of the massive computer labs with expensive equipment just sitting there waiting for people to use it. We went into a lecture room where Dr. Page talked to us about some of the different majors and the differences between them. This was helpful to me because I got to know the differences between the majors that they are offering to see if I would be more interested in one or the other.
