SLAVERY
How can anyone say they have to leave slavery out of the discussion on the civil war? Slavery was the absolute determining factor to the start of the civil war. The battlefield sites are equally important to explaining the importance of slavery to the war. I don not agree with the heritage PAC director Jerry Russell when he says people do not come to the battlefield to learn about the economy, women, or slavery. ... Well in many respects they are right because in our world now, slavery was immoral.
