History of The kkk
The Ku Klux Klan had its first meetings in the spring of 1866. The original members of the Klan were ex-confederate soldiers from Pulaski, Tennessee. The most famous of these men was General Nathan Bedford Forrest. The original name of the Ku Klux Klan was, Kuklos Klan, which is Scottish for family circle. The original six members of Kuklos Klan were very secretive. The original purpose for starting the group was to protect the widows and orphans of the Confederate dead. The men eventually allowed the initiation of new members into their “club.” Soon after its creation people began calling it the Ku Klux Klan. And the Ku Klux Klan became very anti-reconstruction just like many other white southerners of the time. As the Klan kept spreading more and more official rules were set into place.
