A COMPARISON OF THE UNITED STATES AND HAITI There are many different cultures in the world today. What makes up a culture is different for every group. Culture is the specific learned norms based on attitudes, routine behaviors, and dominant values and shared beliefs. Culture is often based on long standing traditions that have been passed from generation to generation. It can be evolved through societal and religious influences. Changing culture would almost be impossible because it is in every society in every country today. To me culture is a society’s way of life. Culture is people’s ethnicity and their traditions carried down from generations past. Culture is also coerced and forced into our beliefs by government, parents, religion and society. There are many different kinds of cultures all around the world. Culture is a very important part of life and I feel it is a way of thinking, feeling, and believing. Culture affects every aspect of our everyday life from the food we eat. Cultural differences are apparent from one group of people to another. Culture is based on many things that are passed on from one generation to the next. Most of the time people take for granted their language, beliefs, and values. When it comes the cultural differences of people there is no right or wrong. People should be aware of others culture and respect the differences that are between them. The United States and Haiti are two very different countries that have cultures that are well known through out the world. There are many differences between the United States and Haiti, but there are many contributing factors that shape the cultures of these two countries. Language is universal, but there are different meanings and sounds, which vary from one culture to another. In Haiti they speak two languages, but about 94% speak the Creole language.
