Through THe tunnel
Through the tunnel “Through the Tunnel” by Dorris Lessing. A story of eleven years old boy named Jerry, spending summer at the beach with his mother. Jerry’s mother was caring, devoting, loving mother; willing to teach her young to be independent and learn to make decisions. Her first step was permitting her to spend the evening any where he wants as the beach area seems over protecting. The rocks at the far side of the beach were the Jerry picked to explore and have fun along with some older kids diving in and swimming through a dark tunnel.
