Colliding visions
Perspective, what does this word mean to you? Perspective is the effect of events upon a mind. A perspective can be a viewpoint or opinion about a certain situation or idea. In the poem “She’s leaving home” by Lennon and McCartney, the main issue was focused on the misunderstandings that can occur from contrary views. The daughter felt the need to run away, because she didn’t feel like her needs were being met. The parents on the other hand were very confused by their daughter’s rapid disappearance. They believed they gave her everything she needed in order to be happy. Depending on our age and values our perspectives will determine what is important to us, therefor allowing us to achieve what we think is important. Different people have contrasted opinions about the same situation. Some people may see a certain circumstance as something positive, while others observe it totally negatively. In the poem the daughter felt like she was trapped in her own home.
