In the Anatomy of a Martian, by Isaac Asimov, he tells a fantasy story about what a human-like creature on Mars may look like. ... Asimov uses the different environmental aspects of Mars to come up with logical reasons why this Martian would look the way it does and how it would perform certain daily activities.
Asimov also gives a nice description of the living conditions on Mars so the reader can understand why he makes the observations he does. For example Asimov talks about the gravity on Mars and how it is only two-fifths on that here on earth. ... Asimov also uses information about gravity on Mars to describe why the creature would have slower reflexes; it may even appear to be slow and sleepy.
