Boss Tweed by Jonathan Kandell
Boss Tweed may have been one of the most scandalous characters in New York in the mid to late 1800’s, but he was able to leave behind one of the most important landmarks in the city. “BOSS”, written by Jonathan Kandell shows Tweeds strengths and short comings, and it also shows events that could be compared between things happening in our early history as well as events that are happening in our present time. Boss Tweed was a school drop out, but this obviously did not prevent him from getting into the politics ring that he needed and wanted to be in. Marrying Mary Jane Skaden was probably a good start for Tweed. ... Tweed was able to join his father in law’s business.
