Storing and Receiving 1. Storing and Receiving is a process which involves 2 steps: Saving (storing) data or info to a storage device for temporary or permanent safe-keeping. Reloading (retrieving) the same data or info from the storage device for further processing. 2. The difference between sequential and direct access is that, sequential means that the storage locations have to be read or written in their correct order starting with the first location and direct access memory can directly read or write from any storage location.
