Process Improvement
Process Improvement Unless you can legitimately make the claim that you or your organization is doing something as well as it can be done, you should always be looking for better ways to manage and execute your projects within your organization. It seems straightforward, and the literature has a number of success stories of companies that substantially improve their process improvement capabilities. However, many organizations that tackle process improvement do not manage to achieve significant and lasting improvements in the way they conduct their projects. In this paper, The Misfits have each selected a candidate process that would benefit from an improvement plan. Each learning team member (De’Shawn, Sequilla, Pamela and Jimmy) have each evaluated their processes’ importance to the organization, including the benefits and costs to the organization if the process is/is not optimized. ... De’Shawn selected the implementation of methods that ensure better communication as a process that would contribute to making better operations management decisions. ... It is essential for supervisors to understand how personality styles affect the way individual employees learn, process, and apply information. ... Sequilla selected the authorization guidelines for procedures that require pre-certification with Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) that would benefit from an improvement plan. ... ” The HMO will not incur any additional costs if the process is optimized as the actual procedures cost the same regardless of the plan the member carries. ... Pamela selected an improvement plan for provider billing of medical claims. ... Jimmy selected the services rendered by hospital emergency departments as a process that would benefit from an improvement plan. ... The Misfits have selected Jimmy’s candidate process to base our improvement plan. Following the implementation of the improvement plan, we expect to have a competitive advantage for our organization.
