Family … What Comes to Your Mind?
The Webster’s dictionary defines a nuclear family as: a self-contained unit consisting of a father and a mother and their children living together in one household. As for me, I do not feel that this definition is the “right” definition, but then again is there a “right” definition for the word family? My definition of a family is as follows: a group of people small or larger, that are close and share love, affection, and care unconditionally for each other, not necessarily living in the same household. To me, having a family is a wonderful thing, but not everyone has the same definition or out look on what a family is or should be. The idea of everyone having their own definition of a family is proven with my definition of what a family should be, as I stated above. What I feel a family should be, could be a long way away from what you or anyone else might think, this is not to say that either one of us is right nor wrong.
For many reasons, I feel that the universal definition of a family is some what incomplete, I would not say that it is not right, because who am I to say that my definition is right or Webster’s for that matter.
