Martin Luther King Jr. and Henry Thoreau decisions on what position citizens should take when determining rather to obey or disobey the law came form the term unjust laws which are laws that degrade human personality. King states that an unjust law is no law at all. Both Thoreau and King disobeyed the law and spent time in jail in efforts to protest unjust laws.
