In this essay I will be looking at the religious festival of Holi and Dhuleti, the Hindu festival of Colour. The festival celebrates the arrival of spring and the death of the female demon Holika. ... In order to try and answer the question of how this festival could help me to understand what part it plays in an individual or communities life I will explain observation I have made from my research as an outstand spectator and also if it is easy to see what the celebration is about. I will also try and explain things, which aren’t seen during the festival, such as rules and conventions applied by religions on individuals.
