Of Mice and Men Review
In this novel the author uses the secondary characters, in general, to show up the different personality traits of the main characters. By using minor characters and things that happen to them, we see how the other characters react in different situations. Steinbeck chooses Curly’s wife because she is totally different to the other characters in the book. She is not of that area, and she is a woman in a man’s world. She triggers many emotions in those around her. This creates much of the mood and action in the novel. We learn how she is perceived by others in their conversations.
