Covered Art How do you define censorship? Is it simply covering something up or is it having direct effects on what it is in the first place? Through the past few years, the censorship of music in America has undergone a dramatic change. Today, a child can no longer easily buy music with questionable lyrics or motives. To better understand the controversy of music censorship, the general public must understand and answer the questions: whom music censorship effects, how it effects them, and why it happened. For as long as music has presided in our culture there has been some type of censorship on it. This has an effect on a great deal of people. The artists making the music, as well as the general public, are affected by judgements made by censors.
