Everyone had heard of the contest. One of the richest and most influential people in the country, Edouard Manet, was offering half of his estate for anyone who could give him the perfect definition of beauty. Many had entered his contest, from people who read to him the works of Socrates, to people who painted pictures to people who brought him women. None of these pleased him. Edouard was totally unable to understand the beauty held within these items.
