Throughout history, both power and authority has been a part in the political climate of any culture. Whether, it’s a tyrannical king of the medieval ages, or a democracy of today’s modern social order, power and authority have been foundations of a civilized society. ... Power and authority can be divided into many different forms as it can be depicted through the main characters in the William Golding’s novel, ‘Lord of the Flies’. Power and authority itself are two different concepts, and Golding has been able to set them apart in a way to portray notions human nature very evidently.
Power; implies possession of ability to wield force, or substantial influence. Power usually comes in the form of individualism, where one has the ability to have command over others. ...
