Human Nature

Each human being is like nature; a masterpiece whose essence remains a mystery. In the poem “There Was a Boy” by William Wordsworth, the speaker recounts the experiences of a boy in nature through nostalgic reverence whereas the poem “The Most of It” by Robert Frost, the speaker perceives the experiences of human beings in nature as hostile and violent. ... With both speakers in the poems in search of some sort of communion, one boy finds rewards in moments of contemplation in the silence with a deeper unity, while the other receives only an echo and finds only a masculine, unreceptive nature in a cruel, derisive universe.
