Violence In Films
Everyone has the power to decide and we all have the ability to choose our own paths. It is a fact that every action has a consequence. Whether it's a good or bad decision you are solely to blame for it. Then why do people commit murders when they know the stakes are high? They can either face life in prison or a possibility of the death sentence if they get caught. One reason people commit murders is that they have no mercy for the human race. They believe that they have the right to take away someone else's life. The question is: What or who made them this way? Psychologists might be quick to say that the parents are to blame for the outcome of this person and others might say that external influences like violence in the media played a part. The truth is that people have been committing murders long before movies and television ever came into existence. Although the media and violence seen in films can heavily influence people, moviemakers and directors should not be held accountable because they are not the ones committing the murders.
First, people should be responsible for their own actions. If a drunk driver gets into a horrible accident and kills five innocent human beings then what or who is to blame for this? Do we blame the driver or do we blame the alcohol? The answer is obvious and the person driving under the influence is at fault. Although the alcohol is greatly influencing this person's actions it is their own fault that they got into the car and drove. The same goes with violent movies. If someone is influenced by something they have seen on television or in the movies it is their own fault that they acted on it. The purpose of a movie is not for you to copy what is seen, the purpose is to entertain you. If someone goes out and murders someone then it is his or her own fault. No one told them to do it but themselves because they decided that that was what they were going to do.
