Eve Rebel without a cause

The serpent pushes Eve beyond her moral and ethical standpoint and coerces her into sinning. In the poem “Eve”, Eve is also aware of the consequences that come from eating the apple yet, just like in “The Fall of Man”, she too decides to sin. ... ” This quote represents Eve remembering the consequences for her past sin, “The Fall of Man”. ... This symbolizes that the serpent is the cause of her sinning. Eve is fully conscience of the fact that eating the apple is a sin. This is shown by the pause in the following quote, “I stoop and O…” By pausing, Eve is considering whether or not to commit the sin.
