Porn Is there a good side to it
Are there benefits to porn, and where should we draw the line? ... "I learnt about sex through porn and I did good," said the guy, or something to the effect. ... Would I have had a better experience had I been exposed to porn? ... So are there really benefits to porn? Is it a good way to teach our kids about sex? There is an abundance of pro-porn research online, to my surprise. For instance, The Oxford Union Society seems to think so - or at least agree that "porn involving consensual adults can be socially beneficial". The OUS (known for its debating prowess) motion on the issue was proposed by a Dr Tuppy Owens, editor-in-chief of the Society for Sexual Freedom (a society in Britain promoting reform of Britains silly old sex laws), sex therapist and ex-porn star. Among the benefits cited were that porn acted as a safety valve so that people could relieve tension by watching wild sex acts (instead of doing them), which in a way would reduce sex crimes.
