Human Cloning
Should the United States government legalize human cloning, or should a law be passed banning all cloning practices? ... ” While it is clear that a sheep and a human are not closely related, the highly controversial event raised the question of just how far scientist would go (Wood 1). In other words, would cloning a sheep eventually lead to human cloning? Although the answer to this question is not known, the idea of human cloning has moved further from science fiction and closer to reality. ... I, like many others, believe that the government should follow up on President Clinton’s 1997 ban on federal funding for cloning research by placing a ban on all cloning practices. Experimentation with cloning is dangerous, unethical, and interferes with natural selection (“Cloning”).
Contrary to belief, cloning is not a new topic. ... The resulting sheep was genetically identical to its mother therefore they were “delayed” genetic twins (“Cloning”).
While the “Dolly” experiment was touted as a success by cloning activist the procedure was nowhere near perfect.
