Beauty in Fairy Tales
How do we define Beauty? ... Whether it be skin deep or internal, we learn the meaning of beauty as children, and the fairytale is the vehicle. In most fairytale’s beauty is an element. By looking deeper into a few common fairytale’s, the way we are taught to think of beauty becomes clearer. Beauty only skin deep: in sleeping beauty we have an interesting situation. ... Also in the popular fairytale of Cinderella, we see beauty as virtuous, pure, good natured. ... But of course, good prevails and eventually the beautiful white bride is discovered and reaps her reward for her beauty.
