I live in the inner city of Buffalo NY and there are a lot of juvenile delinquents that try to blame it on society majority African Americans. There are three branches of the social structure theory the Social disorganization theory that focuses on conditions in the environment, the strain theory that focuses on conflict between means and goals and the Cultural deviance theory is a combination of both. The cultural deviance theory would state that juvenile delinquency is a function of the environment. It is the environment that produces juvenile delinquents. The Cultural Deviance and Social Learning theories can be used to explain deviance for a juvenile growing up in a negative environment with delinquency peers and role models (parents, older siblings, neighbors) around.
