Although a simple three letter word, “art” can be defined in many ways. Ezra Pound once described art as “news that stays news.” Within the American culture, many timeless pieces of art exist. Despite its obscurity in this American culture, my family portrait stands out as an ageless work of art. ... The one fact that will indefinitely remain the same is that this family portrait is an ageless piece of art and although it cannot be used, like most art, as an instrument capable of probing the cultural environment, it probes the familial environment.
