Waiting To Exhale Terry McMillan is novelist who does display a traditional plot structure around a central conflict between a single protagonist and the people or forces that opposes his or her goals. McMillan chooses to structure her novel around two or more protagonist. In her novel “Waiting To Exhale”, McMillan she chooses to structure her novel around four protagonist. This paper will focus on four women and their relationship with dysfunctional men. Her novel “Waiting To Exhale” will be studied in order to demonstrate relationships among black men and women.
