Mushrooms are truly curious. Unlike flowers or delicate plants that wilt and whine under the pressure of deluging rains, mushrooms seem to thrive upon the over saturated grounds. In fact, haven’t you ever noticed that mushrooms prefer wetness so much, that they only appear during and after periods of rain when the ground is nothing more than a veritable swamp? Well, I’ve taken note of this and after contemplating the reasons as to why this might be, I think I may know why. So let me share with you my reasoning and beliefs as to why mushrooms come out in the rain.
Mushrooms have been around since long before man appeared. The difference though is that long ago mushrooms used to be just as abundant as the grass in each of our backyards. The mushrooms thrived because of the dry atmosphere that they much preferred back then. ... The strong mushrooms held their ground for as long as they could but when they saw some crazy old man float by in a house full of animals, they were scared and went into hiding underneath the ground.
