Obedience to Authority

Everyone has a different view of authority. Some people will be obedient to anyone who claims to be in authority. ... Authority is often seen as something to be afraid of. When a person finds that they are the subject of an authority will often do exactly as they are told. In the article “Obedience to Authority”, Milgram conducts an experiment to test the behavior of those subject to authority. ... In Milgram’s “Obedience to Authority” he states “Some system of authority is a requirement of all communal living” (317, Milgram). ... When the teacher felt that it was time to stop, the experiment authority would encourage the teacher to continue the experiment. ... And in Milgram’s “Obedience to Authority” he discusses how in the submission to authority people will forget that they have a right to make a choice and they will follow orders. ... However, society does not realize that they are actually the ones giving up their rights by choosing not to make a choice and just submitting themselves to authority.
