School Experience Where Guys and Girls are
Treated Differently
I was still living in Vietnam when I was in fifth grade and it was the best year that I ever had. ... I respected her for always trying to have a harmonious relationship with us students, even though we guys were stubborn, violent, rebellious and distracting. She tried to cooperate with us guys, but inside I knew that she was in favoring of girls slightly more than guys. There were several incidents that I will always remember because it revealed the differences in how she was treating us guys and girls.
That one day when she was teaching the about Photosynthesis, we guys were too bored to pay attention so we decided to draw cartoon in our books instead. She noticed it and told us guys to look up at the board because we would have a test on it; but we guys ignored her. ... She really had it and just went off yelling at us guys. She made most of us guys to come standing facing the chalkboard and she spank each and everyone of us.
