….and make him Blonde Although I see human genetic engineering as inevitable, I do not support some aspects of its implementation in the human race. Humans have been manipulating plant and animal genomes for thousands of years. Domestic plants and animals have come about due to selective breeding and have served mankind for many millennia (Baker, 3). Scientists today, in a way, do the same to human beings. Scientists have made minor adjustments to a person’s genome to extract recessive diseases in their genetic makeup. What if people were created to serve a specific purpose? Much like a cow is used to just produce milk (Baker, 1), what if a human was manipulated, much like domestication, to be a perfect soldier. This is a controversial subject that many people fear around the world. No matter how much I do not like the idea of some human genetic engineering, human genetic engineering is inevitable.
