IS TERRORISM THE ONLY FORM OF WAR IN THE 21st CENTURY? Terrorism is not the only form of war in the 21st century. There are other forms of warfare around the globe. Some of the obvious ones include classic warfare, nuclear warfare and chemical warfare. Terrorism is only a minor form of warfare in modern times. Classic warfare has been around for thousands of years and the first occurrence may date back to prehistoric times. Our ancestors may have declared war on each other but it is highly unlikely. Prehistoric tribes would have lived in close communities and relied on each other for food and defense from wild creatures. In medieval times war was a common thing and took place regularly. Gigantic armies fought over land and leadership disputes.
